What made you decide on having a destination wedding?
I’ve always wanted a small wedding & my husband and I love to travel.
What made you decide on the destination/resort/venue?
What was the biggest difficulty in planning your destination wedding?
Not being able to see things in person to verify it’s what I want & confirming final headcount.
What was the highlight of the experience and what was the biggest surprise?
I’m so glad that everything turned out like I envisioned and everyone had an amazing time. I’m glad that people had time to relax and use it as a vacation but also were there to support us.
Side note: The whole resort will be supporting you. You will get a lot of cheering, congratulating, and questions like “were y’all that couple that got married the other day?”
How well was the resort and your onsite Wedding Coordinator to work with?
Amazing! The entire staff made sure that we had a wonderful time and that everything went smoothly.
If your best friend were planning a destination wedding what would your advice be to her?
Plan an event or two so that the attendees can mix and mingle. We did a boat excursion and also had a welcome dinner. It was a good opportunity for people to meet prior to the actual wedding day. But- also try and plan so that you as the bride can actually relax, and spend time with your guests and not only see them at scheduled events. (I had lots of meetings & was always getting ready that I didn’t really get to go to the pool with a lot of my guests)
Was there anything that you would change looking back?
Maybe the actual wedding date (July 31) as it was super hot and everyone was pretty sweaty. I would possibly look to go right before or after summer.
Would 100% do it again!
